great non-profits

There are a number of well-publicized non-profit organizations out there such as Doctors Without Borders and the American Red Cross. I think they're wonderful organizations, but I also want to draw attention to smaller organizations that might not receive as much funding--yet they do a great deal of good in their communities. Check out these organizations and see if you have any items to donate or if they are an organization you would be interested in supporting. Because they are small, even small donations are appreciated and highly valued!

what else can I do?

Simply learning about these organizations is doing something. Speak up. Mention them to other people. Put aside a dollar a week and when you feel it's substantial enough, send in a donation.

Here are other suggestions from fellow One Little Droppers on little things you can do to change the world...

meditate
get a to-go bag for leftover food after eating out, and give it to a homeless person
make eye contact with people who are usually ignored
read a book to a child
donate 10% of what you earn to charity--trust me, the world will give it back in some way
once a year, clear out clutter and donate the extra to a charity
take time every day to be thankful for the things you take for granted--running water, electricity, heat
make sure I don't put more "bad vibes" into the world--we have enough!
